How to turn a 2D floor plan into a 3D floor plan

3D floor plan turns a flat 2D floor plan into a photorealistic 3D dollhouse render. You get the same rooms, walls, doors and windows, furnished and lit, seen from above with the roof off. Use it on a listing page, in a carousel or in a listing post so buyers can understand the layout at a glance.

Before you start

You need:

  • One 2D floor plan image, saved in your Media Library under My Images. You can upload it from the picker if it isn't there yet. It must be a JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 20 MB.
  • Enough credits. Each run costs 15 credits on both Free and Pro.

The plan image needs a short side of at least 300 px and a long side of no more than 6000 px. It can't be more than two and a half times longer than it is wide. If a file doesn't fit, you'll see a message telling you what to change.

If you have fewer than 15 credits, you'll see You need credits to run this above the form, with an Add credits button. On the Free plan you'll also see Or go Pro.

How to make a 3D floor plan

  1. Go to agentr.ee/workspace/studio and open 3D floor plan under Create images.
  2. Under Your floor plan, click Choose a floor plan.
  3. In the Media Library, switch to the My Images tab and pick your plan. To add a new one, use the Upload tab. The plan isn't cropped, so the whole image is used.
  4. Under What shape?, pick the shape of the finished image. Square is the default.
  5. Click Make the 3D plan. The shape and the price (15 credits) are shown under the button.
  6. Wait while it shows Building your 3D plan. It takes about a minute. You can click Leave this running and come back later. It'll be waiting in your library.
  7. When you see Your 3D floor plan is ready, click Download, or click Turn into video to animate it in the AI Studio composer.

To swap the plan before you start, click Replace under the thumbnail, or the X to remove it.

Shapes you can pick

  • Square (1:1, the default): feed posts, profile grids
  • Portrait (4:5): the tallest a feed post gets
  • Story (9:16): Stories, Reels covers, TikTok
  • Landscape (16:9): YouTube, your listing page
  • Classic (3:4): print, flyers

A wide plan usually fits best in Landscape, and a tall, narrow plan in Portrait or Classic.

What the 3D render looks like

Every render follows the same rules, so a set of plans for one home looks consistent:

  • It's a dollhouse view from about 45 degrees above, with no roof or ceiling, so every room is visible.
  • The layout is kept from your plan: wall positions, room sizes, door and window placement, and what each room is for. Rooms aren't added, removed or merged.
  • Furniture and fixtures drawn on your plan stay where they're drawn. A drawn bathtub stays a bathtub.
  • Rooms drawn empty are furnished to suit their label: a sofa in the living room, a bed in a bedroom, a shower, toilet and vanity in a bathroom.
  • Stairs appear only where your plan draws them. An area marked "open to below" is shown as a dark opening with a railing.
  • Labeled outdoor areas, like a patio, balcony or deck, are shown as decking with their railings.
  • The look is modern and minimal: warm oak floors, off-white walls, light grey bathroom tiles and matte black hardware, with soft, even lighting on a clean background.
  • There are no room labels, dimensions or watermarks on the render.

Because the render has no labels or measurements, put the room names and square footage in your caption, or show the 3D render next to the original plan.

How to tweak a result

On the result screen, use the Want a tweak? box:

  1. Type one change, like "darker wood floors, add plants" (up to 160 characters). Or leave it blank for a fresh take on the same plan.
  2. Click Regenerate. It uses the same plan and shape as before.

Either way, it's a new 15-credit run. Click Start over to go back to the form with your plan and shape still filled in.

Tips for better results

  • Use a clear, sharp plan with room labels. The labels tell the AI what each room is.
  • Do one floor at a time. If your plan sheet shows two floors side by side, save each floor as its own image first.
  • Crop out logos, legends and title blocks before you upload, so only the plan goes in.
  • Compare the render with your plan before you use it. Check that doors, windows and stairs are where they should be. If something's off, describe the fix in Want a tweak?.
  • Treat the render as an illustration, not a measured drawing. Label it as one in your listing, and follow your MLS rules for digitally created images.

Common questions

Does Regenerate cost credits?

Yes. Every Regenerate is a new run and costs 15 credits, with or without a tweak.

Can I change the furniture style?

Every render starts from the same modern, minimal look. To change it, type what you want in Want a tweak? on the result screen, for example "farmhouse style, white oak floors", and click Regenerate.

What if a run fails?

You'll see That one didn't come back with a reason and a Try again button. When a run fails, your credits come back automatically. If a run takes too long, we stop waiting and return your credits too.

Where do my 3D floor plans go?

Every result is saved in the Media Library's AI Studio tab, so you can use it on your pages and posts. It's also on your Generations page as a 3D floor plan. Open it from there to get back to the result screen.
