Background changer gives your headshot a new backdrop. Your face, hair, glasses and clothes come through as they are, and only the background and the light on you change. Use it when you like a photo of yourself but the setting is wrong for your website, profile or posts.
Before you start
You need:
- One photo of you. It must show one person with the whole face visible. A headshot or a half-length shot works best.
- Enough credits. Each run costs 15 credits on both Free and Pro.
The photo check is free. Before you spend anything, Agentr.ee checks your photo and tells you if it can't be used. On the Free plan you get up to 40 checks an hour. Pro has no limit on checks.
If you're on the Free plan and have fewer than 15 credits, you'll see You need credits to run this above the form, with Add credits and Or go Pro buttons.
How to change your headshot background
- Go to agentr.ee/workspace/studio and open Background changer under Create images.
- Under Add a photo of you, click Choose a photo. The Media Library opens on My Images. Pick a photo, or upload one from the Upload tab (images up to 12 MB).
- Wait while it shows Checking the photo…. When the photo passes, you'll see One person, face clear.
- Under Pick a background, choose one of the 12 backgrounds. To use your own, click Upload a background under Or use your own.
- Check the cost box. It shows This run and Your balance.
- Click Change the background · 15 credits.
- Wait for Moving you to the new background… to finish. It usually takes under a minute. You can leave the page, and the result will be waiting.
- Tap the image, or use the Original and New background buttons, to compare the two.
- Click Download for the full-size image, or Save to media library to copy it into My Images.
What the photo check blocks
The check runs before any charge. If a photo is blocked, you'll see Nothing has been charged. Pick a different photo to carry on. A photo is blocked when:
- There is no person in it.
- There is more than one person. The tool works on one person at a time, so team photos won't work.
- Your face is partly covered or cut off at the edge of the frame.
If the check can't run, you'll see We couldn't check this photo. You can still run the tool, but make sure the photo shows one person with the whole face visible before you spend 15 credits.
Your own background must have nobody in it. If someone is in it, or it can't be checked, the run won't start and you won't be charged. Pick one of the built-in backgrounds or try again in a minute.
The backgrounds you can choose
- Studio: Studio grey (the default), Warm white, Deep navy, Plain white
- Office: Modern office, Warm office, Office lobby
- Interior: Bright kitchen, Bookshelf
- Exterior: Residential street, Street, golden hour
- Wall: Brick wall
Tips for better results
- Flip to the original and check your face, glasses and hairline before you use the new image.
- If you see Worth a close look before you use this, compare carefully. Agentr.ee already re-ran it once at no charge because something looked different.
- Use Ready-made crops for Square · Profile photo or 4:5 · Feed post. They are cut from your image with your face kept high in the frame.
- Don't pick a background that suggests a property you don't represent. A blurred, generic kitchen is fine. A recognizable listing is not.
- Follow your MLS rules and your local disclosure rules for digitally altered photos. Check with your MLS or broker if you're unsure what applies to you.
Common questions
Will it change how I look?
No. Your skin texture, teeth and expression are kept as they are. Only the background and the lighting on you change.
Does Regenerate cost credits?
Yes. Regenerate · 15 credits and Try another background · 15 credits are each a new run at 15 credits. The automatic identity re-run is free.
What if a run fails?
You'll see That didn't work with a reason and a Back to the form button. When a run fails, your credits come back automatically.
Where can I find my new headshots later?
Every result is saved in the Media Library's AI Studio tab, under All. It also shows on your Generations page as a headshot under Images.
