When you edit your website, your changes are saved to a draft first. Visitors only see them after you publish. If your live site doesn't match what you see in the editor, work through the checks below. Most of the time, the fix is one click.
How to publish your latest changes
- In the sidebar, click Your website.
- On a computer, click Publish changes above the preview. It reads Publish website if you've never published. On a phone or tablet, tap Publish in the bar at the top.
- Wait for the message Changes published. The first time, you'll see Your website is live! instead.
- Open your live site and reload the page.
There's no marker that shows you have unpublished edits. If you're not sure, click Publish changes again. You can publish as often as you like. For more detail, see How to publish your website and see your changes live.
How to check why something is still missing
- Visitors see a placeholder page instead of your site. Your site has never been published. Click Publish website.
- A block shows in the editor but not on your site. Click Preview changes (or Preview on a phone). The preview hides the same blocks your live site hides, so if it's missing there too, it's a plan limit. See the next section.
- Your custom domain stopped working. Custom domains need an active Pro plan. If your plan changed to Free, the domain was paused. Your site is still live at your free link.
- An old link stopped working. If you changed your username, links with the old username no longer reach your site. Share your new link instead.
- Your lead capture popup didn't change. The popup has its own Publish button in Settings. Publishing your website doesn't publish it.
- A property page, quiz, listicle or lead page didn't update. Each one is published on its own, from its own editor.
How to tell if the Free plan is hiding a block
- Look for the overlay Subscribe to PRO to display this block on a block in the editor. Pro blocks show this on Free accounts and don't appear on your live site.
- Count your blocks. On Free, only your first 10 blocks show on your live site. Dividers and the Email subscribe block don't count toward the 10.
- Check the Add section area. At 10 blocks it says "You have exceeded the limit of the amount of blocks on free plan".
- To show everything, upgrade to Pro, or move your most important blocks into the first 10.
The same rule applies if a Pro plan ends. Your website stays online, but Pro blocks and blocks past the 10th stop showing. Publishing doesn't change this. To see which blocks are Pro, read How to choose website blocks: every block explained.
Some changes don't need Publish
A few settings go live as soon as you save them, with no Publish step:
- Colors, fonts and branding in Customize, once you click Save changes.
- Your template. Switching template changes your live design right away. The new template's starter headline and intro image go to your draft, so publish to show them.
- Your SEO title and description.
- Your profile image.
So if your design changed but your intro text didn't, publish to bring the two in line.
Tips
- Make a habit of clicking Publish changes at the end of every editing session.
- Use Preview changes before you publish. What you see there is what visitors will see.
- On Free, put your most important blocks at the top, so they fall within the first 10.
- After you publish, reload your live site to load the latest version.

| Publish your website | Yes | Yes |
| Blocks shown on your live site | First 10 (Dividers and Email subscribe not counted) | All |

Common questions
I changed my colors but didn't publish. Why is it already live?
Customize settings like colors and fonts save straight to your live site when you click Save changes. Only blocks and your Intro wait for Publish changes.
Can I unpublish my website?
There's no unpublish option. Once your site is live, publishing only updates what visitors see.
My plan changed to Free. Is my website gone?
No. Your website stays online. Pro blocks and blocks past the 10th are hidden, and a custom domain is paused. Some other pages, like quizzes, lead pages and property pages, may be archived. A banner in your workspace shows how many, with a Review button. Upgrade to Pro and everything reactivates automatically.
Why does my preview look right when my live site doesn't?
The preview shows your draft, including edits you haven't published yet. Your live site shows the last version you published. Click Publish changes and reload your live site.
