Use your own domain for your page
By default, your page lives at a link like agentr.ee/yourname. If you own a domain — something like yourname.com — you can connect it so your page loads on your own web address instead. It's a Pro feature, and once it's set up, everything on your page works exactly the same, just on your domain.
This guide walks you through the whole thing. It looks technical, but it's really just copying a few values from us into your domain provider. Most people finish in under ten minutes, and then there's a short wait while the internet catches up.
Before you start
You'll need two things:
- A Pro plan (custom domains aren't available on the free plan)
- A domain you already own, purchased from a provider like GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace, or similar
You don't need to buy anything new from us, and you don't need to move your domain anywhere. It stays exactly where it is — you're just pointing it at your page.
Step 1: Add your domain
Go to Settings → Domains and find the "Your own domain" section. Type in the domain you want to use (for example, yourname.com) and click Connect domain.
We'll immediately show you a set of DNS records. Keep this page open — you'll need these in the next step.
Step 2: Add the records at your domain provider
DNS records are just settings that tell the internet where your domain should point. You'll add ours at the same place you bought your domain.
Log in to your domain provider, find the section called DNS, DNS Settings, or Manage DNS, and add each record we show you. Each record has three parts:
- Type — usually TXT or CNAME
- Name — what to call the record
- Value — what it points to
Copy each one exactly using the copy buttons next to them. A few tips that save headaches:
- Some providers ask for just the short name (like _acme-challenge.www) while others want the full domain. If yours adds your domain automatically, use the short version we show. If in doubt, most providers are smart enough to figure it out.
- Don't add anything extra — no http://, no spaces before or after.
If someone else manages your domain — an assistant, a web person, whoever set it up originally — you can use the "Email these steps" option to send them the exact records to add.
Step 3: Point your root domain (if needed)
If you entered a domain without "www" in front (like yourname.com), your page will actually live at www.yourname.com. That's normal and it's how most websites work.
To make the plain yourname.com version work too, we'll show you a short instruction to set up forwarding from yourname.com to www.yourname.com. Your domain provider has a "Forwarding" or "Redirect" setting for this — turn it on, and choose "forward with path" if it asks. This makes sure anyone typing either version lands in the right place.
Step 4: Wait for it to connect
Once your records are in, you're done on your end. We check automatically and handle the rest — including setting up the secure padlock (HTTPS) so your page is safe and trusted.
This part takes time, and it's out of anyone's hands: DNS changes usually take effect within an hour, but can take up to 48 hours to fully spread across the internet. You don't need to do anything while you wait. When it's ready, your page switches over on its own and we'll email you to confirm it's live.
You can check progress anytime under Settings → Domains. If you want to nudge it, there's a Check now button.
What happens after it's live
Once connected, your custom domain becomes your main link everywhere — your share panel, your QR code, and how your page appears in search results. Every part of your page, including any listings, quizzes, and other pages, works on your domain automatically. Nothing else changes.
If something isn't working
A few common things to check:
- It's been a while and still not live. DNS can genuinely take up to 48 hours. If it's been longer, double-check the records match exactly what we show — a single wrong character will stop it.
- "This domain is already connected." The domain is already in use on our platform. If it's genuinely yours, contact us at support@gmail.com and we'll help you sort it out.
- The plain version (without www) doesn't work. That's the forwarding step — make sure you set up the redirect from your root domain to the www version at your provider.
