A lead capture popup is a small form that opens over your website a few seconds after someone arrives. It asks for their details, like an email or phone number, and each submission becomes a lead. Use it to turn casual website visitors into people you can follow up with.
Before you start
- The popup is a Pro feature.
- It appears on your main website page only. It doesn't show on property pages, lead pages, quizzes or listicles.
- The popup has one trigger: a time delay after the page loads.
How to turn on the popup
- In the sidebar, click Settings.
- Open the Leads tab. On your phone, pick Leads from the tab menu at the top.
- Scroll down, past Leads collection, to Leads gen popup.
- Click Enable lead gen popup. The Pop-up settings panel opens with a starter headline and an Email field.
How to set up your popup
- In the Content card, write a Headline (up to 60 characters) and a short Content message (up to 130 characters).
- In Setup form fields, click Add form field to add fields such as First name, Phone or Buying timeframe. Each field can be added once.
- Use the Required toggle on each field. New fields start as optional. Drag fields to reorder them.
- Open CTA button preferences to change the Button title.
- In the After submission card, write a Success message headline and Success message content. Visitors see this after they submit.
- In Popup trigger settings, pick a Display timing: Immediately on page load, After 3 seconds, After 5 seconds, After 10 seconds or After 15 seconds.
- Check the preview. On your phone, tap Preview changes, then Edit to go back.
- Click Publish. The button then changes to Publish changes.
If something is missing, a window lists what to fix, such as a success message or at least one form field. Click Fix errors and publish again.
How to change or turn off your popup
- Go back to Settings, Leads, Leads gen popup.
- Edit any card, then click Publish changes to update the live popup.
- To stop showing it, click Disable lead gen popup. It's hidden from your website right away, and your settings are kept.
Where your popup leads go
Each submission shows up in My leads under Lead gen. You also get an alert for every new lead. By default it's emailed to your account email. To send it to a different email address, or to Zapier instead, choose that under Leads collection on the same Leads tab.
Tips
- Give people a reason to sign up. "Get a free home value estimate" works better than "Subscribe".
- Ask for as little as possible. An email and a first name are often enough.
- Try After 10 seconds or After 15 seconds so visitors can look around first.
- Make the success message a clear next step, like "I'll text you this week".
- Keep the headline short. It has to fit on a phone screen.
Free vs Pro
| Free | Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Lead capture popup | Not included | Included |
| Delay options | Not included | Immediately to 15 seconds |
| Leads to email or Zapier | Not included | Included |
If your plan changes back to Free, the popup disappears from your website. Your settings are kept, so it comes back when you upgrade again.
Common questions
Can the popup show when someone is about to leave?
No. The popup opens after the delay you pick. There's no exit or scroll trigger.
Does the popup show on my property pages or quizzes?
No. It only appears on your main website page. For other pages, use a lead page or a quiz.
I turned it on, but I don't see it on my site. Why?
Make sure you clicked Publish at least once and that your plan is Pro. Then reload your website and wait for the delay you picked.
