Some items in the content library are Canva templates. Instead of only finished files, you get a design that opens in Canva, where you customize it and download it. Use a Canva template when you want to make the design your own, or when you need a printable to hand out.
Before you start
- The content library is a Pro feature. Content in the sidebar has a PRO badge.
- Canva templates are marked with the Canva logo on their cards and on the item page.
How to find Canva templates
- In the sidebar, click Content.
- Click the Library tab.
- Under Delivery type, pick Canva template. On your phone, tap Filters first.
- Add a Content type or Category filter if you want to narrow it down further.
You'll also spot the Canva logo on cards in Saved content, in More like this, and in the For you row on the Content dashboard. On an item page, click the Canva logo to see all Canva templates in the library.
How to edit a template in Canva
- Click the item's preview, or its Download button, to open the item page.
- Click Edit in Canva. The button reads Preparing link... for a moment.
- The template opens in Canva in a new browser tab.
- Make your changes in Canva, then download your finished design from Canva.
- Back in Agentr.ee, click Copy caption in the Caption box.
- Post the design you downloaded from Canva and paste the caption.
For a printable, send the file you downloaded from Canva to your print shop, or share it digitally with clients.
What you'll see on a Canva item
- Printables: only the Edit in Canva button.
- Carousels, posts, reels and video scripts: Download files, which gives you the preview files, and Edit in Canva.
- Some carousels: an Auto customize button too. It customizes the carousel with your details right inside Agentr.ee.
Tips
- Click Show instructions on the item page for step-by-step tips on using that item.
- If the item page has a Customize branding panel, you can add your branding there instead. See How to customize content templates with your branding.
- Click the bookmark icon to save a template, so you can find it again under Saved content.
- Click Add to calendar to plan when you'll post it.
- For video scripts, use the Copy script tab to copy the script, then film it.
Common questions
Why does my Canva template show in Downloads?
Clicking Edit in Canva counts as a download, so the item is listed under the Downloads tab. That makes it easy to find again.
Can I open the same template again later?
Yes. Open the item page again and click Edit in Canva.
I'm on the Free plan. Can I use Canva templates?
The content library is part of Pro. During your first week after sign-up, you can open items that are on your content calendar, including Canva templates. After that, the button reads Locked.
Do I have to use Canva for carousels?
Not always. If a carousel has an Auto customize button, you can customize it inside Agentr.ee instead.
