How to add, edit, reorder and delete website blocks

Your website is a stack of blocks, such as text, reviews, links, FAQs and a contact card. You add, edit, reorder and delete them in the website editor, and the preview beside the list updates as you work. Use this article whenever you want to change what's on your page.

Before you start

Every change you make here is saved to your draft. Visitors only see it after you publish, so plan to click Publish changes when you're done.

How to add a block

  1. In the sidebar, click Your website.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the block list and click Add section.
  3. Pick a block from the grid of tiles.
  4. The new block appears at the end of your list, filled with starter content. Edit it to make it yours.

Some tiles carry a Pro badge. On the Free plan these tiles are locked, and clicking one takes you to the Pro page. A block you can only use once, and have already added, is greyed out with an Added badge.

How to edit a block

  1. Find the block's card in the list. It shows the block type, the block's headline, a pencil icon and a trash icon.
  2. Click the pencil or the headline to open the card.
  3. Change the fields you need. Each field saves as soon as you change it.
  4. To add or swap a photo, click Add image or Change image and choose one from your media library. Use Crop to adjust it, or the trash button to remove it.
  5. Click the check mark to save and close the card.

Blocks with several items have their own buttons, such as Add link, Add question, Add review, Add stat, Add listing and Add form field. You can drag these items to reorder them inside the block.

How to edit your Intro

  1. Go to the Intro card at the top of the list. It's always open.
  2. Update Logo / Profile image, Logo style, Headline, Content, Image and Icon links.
  3. Click the check mark to save.

The Intro always stays at the top of your page. You can't move it or delete it.

How to reorder blocks

  1. Find the drag handle on the block's card. It's the small up and down arrows.
  2. Drag the card to its new spot in the list.
  3. Let go. The new order saves right away and the preview updates.

How to delete a block

  1. Click the trash icon on the block's card.
  2. Confirm when your browser asks "Are you sure you want to delete this block?"

The block disappears from your draft. It stays on your live site until you publish.

Tips

  • Watch the preview on the right. There's no pop-up message after you add, edit, move or delete a block, so the preview is how you check your work.
  • The check mark can't be clicked while a field has an error. Fix the field shown in red, then save.
  • Keep the Intro short. Its headline can be up to 60 characters and its content up to 100.
  • Text blocks allow 30 characters of accent text, 80 for the headline and 800 for the content.
  • A block with a list of items needs at least one. For example, you'll see "Links block requires at least one link." if you try to remove the last link.
  • A Stats block holds up to 6 stats, and a Listings Carousel holds up to 10 listings.
  • There's no duplicate, hide or undo button. To test a new layout, add the block, check the preview, and delete it if you don't like it.

When you reach the limit, the Add section button is disabled. On Pro you'll see "You have reached the maximum number of blocks (30)." Remove a block to add a new one.

On the Free plan, Pro blocks that are already on your page stay in your editor but aren't shown to visitors.

Common questions

Why don't I see my changes on my live site?

Edits in the block list only change your draft. Click Publish changes to send them live.

Can I move the Intro lower on the page?

No. The Intro is fixed at the top of every site. You can edit everything inside it.

Why can't I add a second copy of a block?

Some blocks can only be used once per page. Once added, the tile shows Added and can't be clicked again.

Can I get a deleted block back?

No. There's no undo. Add the block again from Add section and fill it in.
